The crossing.

Have you ever seen something happen that you regret seeing?
Like you want to go back in time and change it so It didn't happen?
or erase it from you memory like it was never there?
It's like something disgusting that you near hated to see.
Every afternoon, in the afternoon heat, I walk across the crossing on my way home.
  Usually nothing special happens.

The road patrollers tell us when we can cross safely. But one time, at the end of the day, I was walking away from the crossing when suddenly my friend, yelled… “Hey Nick!” I looked back. A kid suddenly thinks that it is ok to run across the crossing….shriek! Bang.

I was frozen to the spot, as if something glued me there. I was paralysed, stunned. It felt like the blood had left my body. “SOMEONE CALL 111!”  I felt cold but hot at the same time.

My brain was a mess, as if someone had taken all of my memories and chucked them in a rubbish bin. But the thing that stood out was my brain saying... ‘What should I do? What should I do?”

That day I learnt a lesson. But although I want to erase this memory forever the lesson is still valuable to me, do not cross roads without considering hazards.
